1. Is StyroSolve safe for the environment?
Yes, it is a non-toxic and biodegradable solution.
2. What is produced from the StyroSolve process?
Polystyrene pellets, which are packaged and sold to manufacture other items that you use every day. Examples: Cell phone casing, computer casings, and any other objects where a fairly rigid, economical plastic is desired.
3. What is EPS Foam?
(Expanded Polystyrene) You come in contact with Expanded Polystyrene everyday, which is light plastic material used to make disposable items, insulation, and packing materials. Though EPS Foam is useful in our every day lives, it will never biodegrade.
4. Do any other companies recycle EPS Foam ?
No. We are the only company who TRULY recycles EPS Foam. Until now, common practice was to melt the EPS Foam to reduce the volume. This produces harmful vapors and the melted block still ends up in the landfill.
5. How do you clean the EPS Foam?
Our patented process incorporates micron filters to greatly decrease any contaminates, producing manufacturing grade Polystyrene.
6. Is it true that the number of trucks used to ship the EPS Foam is not cost efficient and is harmful to the environment?
No. By outfitting our trucks with tanks containing StyroSolve™, we are able to start the recycling and reduction process at the collection site, giving us the ability to transport in excess of 20,000 lbs of EPS Foam each trip. This greatly reduces the carbon footprint of our transportation.
